    My husband and i want to take our 3 yr old daughter to Disney over christmas. I know this is last minute planning but were kind of stumped as to what hotel would be a nice fit for a family with a young child. Any suggestions?

    Kristin,

    Really, all of the Disney resort hotels are great for kids. It is kind of their stock-in-trade.

    I am glad to offer some suggestions, by resort level;

    Deluxe: Grand Floridian
    Moderate: Port Orleans Riverside
    Value: Toss up

    The Deluxe hotels, if you can afford them, do far more inside the resorts for the Christmas holiday. The others (Moderates and Values) have great decorations as well, but nothing up to the over-the-top efforts of the Deluxe.

    In my recommendations, I pick the Grand Floridian for the over-the-top decor that includes a life-size gingerbread house inside the hotel lobby. For Port Orleans I pick it because of decor and resort amenities, though I do like the holiday decor at Coronado Springs as well. And if you are in for a Value resort, you are going to get pretty similar holiday impact, though I always prefer Pop Century typically.

    Now I will say that one notable 'honorary mention' is the Wilderness Lodge. It is so very Christmas-like in its decor already, so it is perfect for this time of year. But with a 3-year old I think you are still better off at the Grand Floridian, due to the monorail access to the Magic Kingdom.

    Have a magical vacation!
