My husband , 13 year old daughter and I will be going on the behind the scenes tours in epcot when we go in May, my ? is do they allow cameras or camcorders on this tour.

Without knowing specifically which tour you're going on, it's a bit difficult to answer your question. In fact, the part about your 13 year old daughter confuses me. Any tour that's truly "behind the scenes" will have an age requirement of at least 16 years old. I took the Backstage Magic tour in January which originated at Epcot (and then proceeded to two other parks). Other than alcohol purchase situations, this is the only time I've seen IDs checked for age at WDW. They really don't want the magic spoiled for kids by having them see the backstage area, plus I'm sure that there are legal issues with having minors in certain work areas. I would be sure to confirm the age requirements for any tour you're taking before your trip by calling 407-WDW-TOUR. I'd hate to see you disappointed on your vacation.

(One exception to this is the Behind the Seeds tour in the Land pavilion at Epcot. I have taken my own children on this tour twice, the first time when the youngest was six years old. This is a child, and adult, friendly tour in which the only magic revealed is the magic of Mother Nature.)

As far as the camera question goes ... you will NOT be able to take pictures or film in any backstage areas of any tour. If you are in an area that is not open to the general public, then you may not photograph it.

When I took the Backstage Magic tour, I did have my camera with me. I took photos on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom during the parade viewing that was part of the tour. But we were forbidden from taking photos of the utilidors under Main Street because that is not public space.

    Hope this all makes sense.
