    My husband & I will be going to Walt Disney World in mid July. He is legally blind and I am worried about the lines on the rides, restaurants, etc. Does anyone know aside from the recordings and braille, if Walt Disney World makes other accommodation

    Hi, Rebecca!  We have something in common, as my husband is legally blind as well, and most times would be able to see the "E" at the top of the eye chart.  The best thing I can think of to recommend to you is the Guest Assistance Card.  You already know about the recorded descriptions of each of the attractions and the information you can get in braille.  The Guest Assistance Card will allow cast members to assist you with things like seating that is up closer so that your husband might be able to see some of the stage shows or video attractions.

    My husband doesn't have any difficulty waiting in lines, but I do know that some people with visual impairments feel a little claustrophobic while waiting with a crowd.  You can certainly let them know with your guest assistance card if your husband has that experience, and they can help by allowing you to wait in a less crowded area, where possible.

    You will find that most of the people you encounter are very eager to help and interested in learning how they might best assist you.  Don't be afraid to speak up for an accommodation that might help enhance your husband's experience!  If there is something that can be done to help your husband feel the magic and pixie dust, I have always found that the Walt Disney World cast members will do whatever they can to be helpful!
