My husband is in the US Air Force so we took advantage of the Military room discount Disney is giving. This is going to make me sound really cheap, but if Disney comes out with the free dining can we also take advantage of that or will we not be eligible?

    Hi Laura,

First, thank you to your husband, your family and yourself for all you do to protect our nation and keep us free. Your dedication to our country is admirable and I can never say thank you enough!

Second, you are not cheap you are just saving your money for other things such as more popcorn, a turkey leg or an extra treat on vacation.

In general, you can not combine discounts. If you are taking a room discount, military or otherwise, you can not choose another discount such as free dining. I personally find it is better to take a room discount than the dining. I say this as I can always find a way to reduce my food budget by bringing snacks and water to the park, eating breakfast in the room with cereal brought from home or ordering it from an online grocer like the Garden Grocer or splitting a lunch with my husband.

I think finding a deal on the room will help get me to Disney faster than free dining.

You can compare both discounts. If you want to switch to free dining, you would need to call Disney and see if they can make the switch.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
