Hi! My husband and I have a trip planned for Oct 2013 but are considering moving it up to 5/19/13-5/25/13 due to the spring special that Disney is offering. I'm wondering what the crowds will be like the week before Memorial Weekend? Thanks!

Hi Jewell! I always think sooner is better than later with regard to Disney vacations! Before my children became too old to miss school, May used to be my family's favorite month to visit Walt Disney World because of the fairly low crowd levels and beautiful warm weather. Memorial Day Weekend is traditionally fairly busy, but park attendance during the rest of May is usually low to moderate. Crowd levels can be a little higher in May than October, but neither month is extremely busy. I like to consult the Crowd Calendar on the unofficial website touringplans.com for park attendance level predictions when planning my Disney vacations. That site is predicting crowd levels of 4-5 (with 10 being the most crowded) for the week before Memorial Day.

It's quite possible that Disney will offer specials for October similar to the spring ones you see now, but it will likely be several months before they're released. If you don't want to wait until October to visit Walt Disney World, May would be a great month for a Disney trip!

If you have more questions, I'm happy to help! Wishing you a magical and uncrowded Disney vacation!
