Sandeep, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I think the only “downfall” associated with a Disney vacation is having
to pack all.the.things! I’m a planner, obviously (!), so I make sure that I have back-up plans A, B, and C, which leads to a lot of luggage!
You will find some of the lowest crowds in the parks during January, so it’s a fantastic time to maximize a visit. In general, the average high temperature is in the mid-60s, and the average low is in the 40s. January can be one of the wettest months of the yEAR in Anaheim, so
plan accordingly. We have a spare set of
ponchos for Disney permanently in our trunk! But, despite the rain, Disneyland Resort will stay open. Some of the rides may temporarily close if they have an outdoor track (think
Matterhorn Bobsleds), but in general, the parks operate as usual.
The Resort’s hours are shorter during the winter because the days are shorter. But no worries, you will have plenty of time for all the fun! The parks tend to be open longer on the weekends, and as you get closer to your date, you can check Park Hours specifically for when you are visiting on
the calendar. Currently, the schedule is showing hours
through December.
Hopefully, your visit will coincide with the
Lunar New Year Celebrations! During the
Year of the Pig celebrations this past January, the Three Little Pigs made a rare appearance, and Mickey & Minnie were decked out in glorious red attire! The
food was delicious, the entertainment was spectacular, and
Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession was enchanting!
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back — chEARs to a magical vacation.
