Hi, my husband & I are taking our 7 yo son to wdw arriving 3pm on 2/8/10 for 5 nights. Are there any EM hours that night? we are not sure what to do for the week. We have QS dining and am considering upgrading to base dining for fantasmic pkg. thanks

    Hi there Apryl!

The extra magic hours for Feb 8th are only available in the morning, so unfortunately you will miss those. If you are anxious to get some park time right away, you do have two options: Magic Kingdom is open until 8pm and Epcot is open until 9pm.

I also have a couple of other ideas of how you can kick off your trip in a fun way:

The first is to schedule a character dining experience for your first night. A couple of these meals are at resort hotels, such as the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian, so you do not need to worry about park hours or about using a ticket for a short amount of time.

The second idea is to enjoy an evening Downtown Disney. Our family always has a ton of fun shopping and dining. For a special treat, a visit to DisneyQuest may be just the ticket to surprise your son. My 9 year old son absolutely LOVES this indoor video park. At first I was very skeptical of DisneyQuest and fearful that it would be just a large arcade -- BUT now I am a convert! There are plenty of games and activities the whole family can enjoy! If you like this idea, visit the DisneyQuest page here for more info. AND its open to 11pm on Feb 8th!

Hope you have a Magical trip!
