Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Aimee! I recently returned from a stay at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for an anniversary trip with my husband. You are in for quite a treat! Make sure to spend time enjoying the restaurants and lounges, as they are some of Walt Disney World Resort's best.
Three Bridges Bar & Grill is a fantastic place to have a light meal, while
Dahlia Lounge, located on the rooftop of Gran Destino Tower is my favorite nightcap spot!
I've participated in several runDisney events, and in my experience, the parks operate just as they usually would with a few exceptions. Your resort will have
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend race information and signage throughout the lobby, and you may receive a letter in your room if theme park transportation is affected by the event. In all likelihood, Park buses will be running on schedule, but it's always advisable to budget in some extra time in case of traffic. Typically, it takes about 10-15 minutes to get from Disney's Coronado Springs Resort to
Epcot, and I would plan to be at the bus stop no later than 8:00 AM to be there for Park opening. If the race is still going on, Cast Members will be staged at points, and certain areas in Epcot may have crosswalks so guests can cross the course safely. The crowds should be light in the morning hours, and as the day wears on, you might start to notice an influx of guests wearing their runDisney bling and race shirts.
I hope you and your Prince Charming have a magical trip next month, Aimee! See ya' real soon!
