Aloha Alina, and welcome to planDisney! I’m excited to hear that you’ll be at
Aulani in just a few weeks. I fell in love with this resort the moment I stepped into the lobby for the first time. The combination of Hawaiian culture and Disney magic makes this tropical paradise incredibly special. So let’s chat about what to expect when you first get to Aulani.
Before you enter the lobby, Cast Members will offer you a refreshing cup of fruit-infused water (look closely, and you might spot a hidden Mickey in the dispenser!). While there aren’t leis at check-in, a Cast Member will usually present you with a special Aloha welcome button featuring Mickey and Duffy the Disney bear. And you can also ask for a celebration button that says Hau’oli au to commemorate a special occasion (there are also birthday and I’m married buttons as well).
If you’re looking for a flower or kukui nut lei, I’ve sometimes seen them for sale in
Kalepa’s Store, right off the lobby. And if you’re a
Disney Vacation Club member, don’t miss the weekly Member Celebration. It’s part energetic dance party and part character meet and greet, and you’ll usually get a kukui nut lei when you arrive. I’ve also received a kukui nut lei at the
KA WA’A luau.
As you start planning your upcoming stay, I’d love to share some of my favorite activities! One of my must-dos is booking a spa service at the
Laniwai Spa. Not only are the massages amazing, but spending time before and after in the
hydrotherapy garden is absolute bliss! It's exclusively for spa guests, and you'll find shaded lounge chairs, whirlpools, and a reflexology path. And in the regular pool area, I love the
adults-only whirlpools at ‘Alohi Point, which overlook the ocean. And it’s even more breathtaking at sunset!
Speaking of pretty sunsets, one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had at Aulani was dinner at
‘AMA’AMA. The menu features locally sourced fish and produce, and everything I had was delicious! I recommend making a reservation about an hour before sunset because the tables have an incredible view of the water. You can start making dining reservations 30 days in advance.
I’m wishing you the most magical stay at Aulani in January! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
