Ahoy, John!
What a wonderful vacation you have planned with your niece and nephew in November! I'm sure the four of you will make some very special memories while at sea with Disney Cruise Line that y'all will cherish for many yEARS to come.
I have two children of my own, and this is always a topic of discussion before we set sail. At this time, Disney Cruise Line does not let you put a spending limit on the "Key to the World" cards, so I'm going to share some tips that have worked for my sailors. First, each child receives a few Disney Gift Cards to use for some of their onboard purchases like souvenirs, specialty drinks or popcorn for movies in the Buena Vista Theatre. The good news is that
Disney Gift Cards can be used for souvenirs in the gift shops onboard. The other way to use Disney Gift Cards is to turn them into Guest Services, and they will be able to credit them to your stateroom account for the other miscellaneous purchases I mentioned above. We give each child a daily spending limit, and it's easy to check this by stopping by Guest Services for a printout of your charges, which will be itemized by each Guest. This always helps my kids stay in check because they know we can drop by
Guest Services at any time! If you are sailing on the
Disney Fantasy or
Disney Dream, purchases can also be checked on your stateroom TV. You'll want to navigate to "Guest Services" and then click "View Folio."
I hope I've given you some ideas on how to manage your niece and nephew's spending on your upcoming cruise! Please let us know if we can assist you further with your magical plans!
