    My husband is retired military, are there options for discounts. We are looking at the Grand Floridian May 29 - June 2 or the disney cruise line on the same timeframe. Thank you.

    Hi there, Kimberly! Welcome to planDisney, I am so happy to help you today with your question. From one military spouse to another, I want to say thank you for your husband's service! 

    As a retired military family, you can take part in the military rates Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line have offered, so yay! As a guest at Walt Disney World, you can book a room at select Disney resorts that offer a military discount, as well as the Disney Military Tickets (formerly the Armed Forces Salute). To add this offer to your reservation, call a Cast Member at the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations desk at (407) 939-7830, and they'll be more than happy to help. Rooms with this rate are limited, so I suggest calling as soon as possible! Purchasing theme park tickets can be done at your nearest military installation, or through Shades of Green Resort. Make sure you bring the exchange certificates with you to Walt Disney World, as you or your husband will need to "activate" them at Guest Relations (at any of the four theme parks, or at Disney Springs). While you get those tickets activated, ask about the military discount for Memory Maker.

    Disney Cruise Line offers military rates on select Disney cruises and select dates. At this time, there are three cruises included in this offer, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise with a Pixar Day at Sea, a 7-night Western Caribbean Cruise with a Pixar Day at Sea, and a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise, all on the Disney Fantasy. All 3 of these cruises are sailing around late February-early March. To inquire about future cruises with a military rate, I'd call (800) 951-3532 for assistance.

    As a future guest at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, take advantage of all the magic found here, and have a resort day! Start your day with a delicious breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe (one of my favorites!). Book a couples massage at The Grand Floridian Spa, or reserve a cabana at the pool. Before heading to a dinner at Cítricos, enjoy a cocktail (or two!) at Enchanted Rose Lounge.
