My husband & I are retired military and often use the military salute tickets for visits to WDW. We are interested in annual passes. As AP holders do we have to purchase a military salute ticket for ourselves to activate tickets for family members.

Wenndy, welcome to planDisney! From one military family to another, thank you for your (and your husband's!) service to our nation! I am happy to help you with your question today.

Like you and your family, I am so grateful for all the offers Walt Disney World Resort has given to our community, from rates on tickets, Disney Resort hotel rates, and even a discount on Memory Maker. I am so happy you want to purchase Annual Passes for Walt Disney World. The Disney Incredi-Pass has many magical perks, including no blockout dates, standard theme park parking, and discounts on select dining and merchandise. Fairy Godmother waved her magic wand with this one! As retired military, you can purchase Disney Military Salute Tickets for your upcoming visit and upgrade them to an Annual Pass once you arrive. Make sure to ask about the upgrade at Guest Relations! I am also happy to announce that as an Annual Passholder, you do not need to purchase Salute Tickets for yourself. You still need to present your military I.D. when activating Salute Tickets for your family members.

I hope you have a wonderful visit in May. That is one of my favorite times of year to visit Walt Disney World. EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be in "full bloom", and I hope you have a wonderful time checking out the various gardens, character topiaries, and fun activities you will find throughout EPCOT. Enjoy dining on dishes with the freshest ingredients in the various Outdoor Kitchens, and if you are for the challenge, take part in Garden Graze. Using your Festival Passport, purchase select dishes from select Outdoor Kitchens, collect a stamp in your passport, and redeem it for a sweet treat at Pineapple Promenade. Check out Disney Parks Blog's latest article highlighting this year's Outdoor Kitchen menus. The Chicken and Waffles from The Honey Bee-Stro was one of my favorites last year!

Wenddy, I hope all of this information helped you today! Feel free to send me questions whenever you need extra pixie dust. You've got a friend in me!

    Magic Awaits!
