Jambo, Ashley! I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal at
Sanaa!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has some of the most exotic and delicious dining options in all of Walt Disney World. I have tried all of the restaurants at Kidani Village and Jambo House, and they are among my favorites.
I like to tell the story of our dining experience at
Jiko - The Cooking Place a few years back when my middle son asked for the recipe for the Grilled Wild Boar Tenderloin. He seemed confused when our server and I laughed, which I then had to explain that some ingredients are tough to find in our Pittsburgh grocery stores! While some of Jiko's and Sanaa's recipes, such as their infamous Naan Bread, are readily available at the resorts and on the internet (try allears.net), others are more elusive.
I can see why you are dreaming about that Spice Trade Candy Bar! This is not your run of the mill Hershey Bar; it is a coconut, apricot, caramel, pistachio, and cashew bar coated with milk chocolate, and then topped with Chai cream, pistachio crumb, and apricot gelee. I have a
Rumbly in my Tumbly just thinking about it! Although Guest Services was unable to provide me with the recipe, they suggested that you email your request to: wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com. I'll keep my fingers crossed that some pixie dust finds its way into your inbox soon!
In the meantime, Ashley, I suggest investing in some Disney Cookbooks by Pam Brandon. My Mouseketeers have gotten me a couple as gifts, and we love cooking up some Disney magic in the kitchen! In 2015, she published
A Cooking Safari with Mickey, which is filled with recipes from
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and it's currently sold on Amazon (it used to be available at the resort's gift shop). Although you won't find your Candy Bar recipe in there, I bet you'll find something else that reminds you of that memorable meal!
