    My husband and I really wanted to stay at the Art of Animation resort but we ended up booking the Port Orleans Resort by referal from our friends. We have a 4 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. Did we make a good choice for our kids?? Please Help!

    Congratulations on your Walt Disney World vacation, Dimitra! Choosing a resort can definitely be one of my family's most challenging decisions when planning our trips to the "Happiest Place on Earth!"  I actually experienced my first stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort in December and my first stay at DIsney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort in January. Although I loved the immersive storybook theming and whimsical guest rooms at DIsney's Art of Animation Resort, I actually prefer the relaxing atmosphere, fun recreational activities, and beautiful landscaping at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. The pools at the value resorts do not have a slide which is an important factor for my children. Ol' Man Island, the pool area and catch and release fishing hole, at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort is a lush shaded area; whereas, the BIg Blue Pool at DIsney's Art of Animation Resort is more open and less shady. After dining at the quick-service locations at both resorts, I can honestly say that I preferred Riverside Mill Food Court at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Another benefit of staying at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort is being able to travel to Downtown Disney via the Sassagoula River Cruise (water taxi.)  Although you can't go wrong with either of these amazing resorts, I honestly believe you have made an excellent choice for the ages of your children!  I hope this information helps!
