My husband and I are planning our 1st trip to WDW. Are the value resorts nosier than the moderate ones. We will not be swimming, using the gym and do not need fridge, coffee maker etc. Just a quiet nights sleep and ease of transportation to the parks....

    Cheryl,

In my experience they are somewhat noisier.  I did not find this to be an issue while in the room, and it never disrupted my sleep.  I noticed the noise difference primarily in the quick service eating area.  The food court in the value resorts always seems to be crowded and loud.  Now I personally think the same can be said about the moderate resorts, but the value was even more so in my estimation.

If you do not want or need any of the other amenities that a moderate resort would offer, then I personally would not suggest upgrading based solely on noise concerns.  I am admittedly uncomfortable with loud situations, but I didn't find anything about the food court unbearable, just noisy.  For as infrequently as you'll be in there, it probably isn't worth the added expense.

Transportation is something that I would give a second look at, however.  Pop Century would be my first pick for easy bussing to and from the parks, followed by All-Star Sports.  (Occasionally the All-Star Resorts will share buses, but when that's the case Sports is always the first stop.)

    Have a great first trip!
