My husband and I are planning a trip with our four boys (17, 15, 12 and 6) and my mother. Where do you recommend we stay with that many people? I would like to be able to come back and have lunch in our rooms, but I don't want to waste a lot of time?

If your budget allows, I think the best option for you would be a villa-style room. These are available at the Old Key West, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Beach Club, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge resorts. The villas are like mini-apartments with separate sleeping areas. There are two bedroom villas that comfortably sleep eight people. In these rooms, there is a bedroom with a king-size bed, a bedroom with two queen-sized beds, and living room with a queen-sized pull-out couch. Additionally, there are two bathrooms, laundry facilities, and a full kitchen with real appliances stocked with all the basic supplies. The villas are perfect for larger families or multi-generational families that are traveling together. I have stayed in villa rooms a total of about a dozen times and really value the incredible amount of space there is for vacation accommodations.

Of the villa resorts, the Boardwalk and Beach Club are the closest to a theme park. They are both just a five minute walk to Epcot. They are also a quick boat ride away from Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Wilderness Lodge Villas are a brief boat ride from the Magic Kingdom. Any of these would work for an easy trip back to the room for lunch.

There are also less expensive "family suites" at the All Star Music resort. These are much smaller than the villas, but they do sleep six and give you two bathrooms. Another option would be to request two adjoining rooms at any of the Disney hotels. Pending availability, this could be done at any resort.
