My husband and I are planning our first trip to WDW in fall of 2010 with our 3 children: 9, 8, and 5. We are looking to stay at the Contemporary Resort Hotel. Is this a good choice for young children or would you recommend differerent accomodations?

How exciting to be planning your first Disney vacation Mary! The Contemporary Resort is an awesome choice. I'm guessing your kids will think it's super cool to be staying in a hotel with a monorail that goes right through it! There are so many things to do there, including a great pool area, fabulous restaurants including Chef Mickey's, our favourite character dining spot, shops with something for everyone, a fun arcade and watercraft rentals. In addition to newly upgraded rooms, another feature is its proximity to the Magic Kingdom. Being on the monorail, the Magic Kingdom and Epcot are a short ride away. And there's a fitness centre and spa for mom and dad!

You might want to use the compare feature on the Disney website to ensure that the Contemporary best meets the needs of your family. Simply click here and tick the compare box in the bottom left corner of the resorts you are considering.

Please write back with any other questions you might have as you plan your magical vacation!
