My husband and I are planning our first trip to Disney with our kids (boys - 3 & 4) and my Mom. We are coming in Jan 2010, and am looking for suggestions for resorts. We will have all 5 of us in our room. Thanks in advance!!

Hi, Debbie!  Your options for five in a room range from the Deluxe resorts, like the Polynesian or Grand Floridian, which have two beds plus a daybed; the moderate resort Port Orleans Riverside, where you will find the two double beds, but one has a trundle bed that pulls out to accommodate a child; or even a value resort, with the Family Suite at the All Star Music resort.  The All Star Music Family Suite has a separate bedroom area for Mom and Dad (or Grandmom, in your case), and three different pull out options in the living room.

The biggest advantage to the Family Suite is that you will have two full bathrooms, which can be a huge help for a family of five in one room; plus, you'll have a small kitchenette with a microwave and a mini-refrigerator.  That helps save a little on meals, as we do breakfast in the room many mornings so we can eat while everyone is getting ready.  It's a time saver, too!

If you are looking for a little extra space, along with the addition of a full kitchen, you could consider the cabins at Ft. Wilderness.  This is a great location for two little boys, with so many activities at the campground, they might not want to go to the theme parks!  Another wonderful option is a villa at one of the Disney Vacation Club properties.  These villas have full kitchens, and if you book a one bedroom or larger, you also get a washer and dryer in the room.  I can't tell you how great that is to have, especially with so many airlines charging baggage fees!

I hope you find an option that works for everyone!  There are so many to choose from!

    Have a great trip!
