My husband and I plan to be at Disneyworld for his 50th birthday in January 2010. Can you give me some suggestions for special birthday activities. We are both definately kids at heart.

Hi, Angie!  Happy 50th birthday to your husband, and lucky him for having a wonderful wife!

There are many things you could choose from to celebrate his birthday with something fun and different.  You could check out some of the special tours and behind the scenes experiences at Walt Disney World.  For the young at heart, you might enjoy the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure on a Segway, which takes you through the Ft. Wilderness area.  The Keys to the Kingdom tour lets you in on some of the secret backstage magic that takes place at the Magic Kingdom, and is a great look at some things you might never see.

If your husband is a fan of trains, he could do the three hour Magic Behind the Steam Trains tour, which is an insider's peek at what it takes to keep the steam trains up and running at Walt Disney World.  What a great in depth tour this is!

If you want to go all out and have an amazing pirate adventure, take him for a pirate makeover at the Pirates League!  He can be transformed into a swashbuckling pirate - and you into an enchanted pirate maiden.  Then, head on over to do the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, a fabulous experience that leaves from the Contemporary Resort.  The voyage includes a snack buffet at the Contemporary, followed by a trip out on the Seven Seas Lagoon, where you'll be up close and personal with the Electric Water Pageant, followed by a spectacular view of the Wishes Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.

You will want to call soon to book your birthday adventures, as many experiences do sell out.  The tours can be booked through 407-939-8687; the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage at 407-939-7529; and the Pirates League through 407-939-2739.
