Hello, Princess Libby! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited that you and your Prince Charming will be lacing up your sneakers next month for the
Disney Princess Half Marathon. I'm sure you've been training for a while, but all that hard work will pay off when you run down Main Street, U.S.A., and then through Cinderella Castle. It gives me goosebumps every single time!
The only way to pick up your packet and bib is to visit the
runDisney Health & Fitness Expo located at the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Each
Walt Disney World Resort hotel has its own Expo shuttle, operated by Mears. You'll want to ask the front desk of your resort hotel where these buses pick up-- I always stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort for race weekend, and the Expo transportation is in a different location at the resort than where the theme park buses pick up.
You won't need to pay an entry fee at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. However, I do recommend scheduling a little extra time to look around since there is so much to see and do (they have chair massages, Senses Spa is on hand to give Disney nail art manicures, Jeff Galloway does meet and greets, and of course there's lots of fun runDisney merchandise)! To pick up your race bib, visit the HP Field House and have a valid photo ID and a signed waiver. Race shirts and gEAR Bags are in the Visa Athletic Center.
Here's a Moms Panel tip: Print out your runDisney race waiver from home and bring it with you to the Expo to save time. You'll be able to do this online directly from the runDisney website after they release the corral assignments in a couple of weeks. There will also be a link for the Digital Event Guide, which will have important race day information.
Libby, feel free to write back if you have any more questions, and if you see me out there on race day, make sure to say hello!
