My husband and I (no kids) are coming to the resort in July/August for an anniversary celebration. We would like to stay at a romantic resort but cannot quite make the budget for the Grand Floridian or Contemporary. Any suggestions?

    Mariel,

Congratulations!  Disney is a great place to celebrate your anniversary.

I understand your budget concerns.  However, in my opinion there's really nothing romantic about any of the value resorts, so I'll skip over them.

In the moderate category, I would suggest Port Orleans-French Quarter.  It is the smallest of the moderates, so the feeling is automatically more intimate, and it has an adult charm that I think you will find appealing, particularly strolling through the pathways at night.  As a second choice, I think I'd opt for Coronado Springs.  It also has nice paths to take a stroll on, and there are a couple of bar/lounge areas you could enjoy.

For a deluxe resort, I would recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It is one of the lowest priced deluxe resorts so it's still budget-friendly, and it is stunningly beautiful.  The architecture is amazing, and the dimly lit evenings with torches burning lend an exotic and romantic feel to the property.  Also, because of the savannas this is the most secluded of the resorts, which I think is a perk.

As a second choice, the other low-priced deluxe resort is the Wilderness Lodge.  This resort is closer to the Magic Kingdom, if that matters to you.  In fact, you can watch the fireworks from the beach, right by the pool and the geyser.  This, too, is a gorgeous property,  In fact, these are two of our favorite Disney resorts!

    Hope that helps!
