My husband, myself and our 2 yr old will be going on our first cruise on magic in Dec 2012. There is only one seating available is there a way to get this changed? I was also curious about daycare during an excursion for just adults is there a max hour?

    Hi Dawn!
I'm thrilled to hear you are setting sail for a magical voyage this December!  The ship will be all decked out for the holidays, and the characters will look fabulous in their festive holiday attire!
I have two suggestions for changing your dinner seating.  First, I would give Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 and ask to be put on a waitlist for the seating you prefer.  If you don't get the change prior to sailing then you will need to try on embarkation day.  When you check-in at the port,  you will be given a Personal Navigator, the daily cruise newsletter. On the front page, you will see the directions for changing your seating time.  I would follow these directions as soon as you board the ship to better your chances.
You should be able to leave your two year old while you venture ashore.  On days the ship is docked, Flounder's Reef will extend their hours to accommodate Guests wishing to participate in Port Adventures.  I'm only aware of the two hour minimum so you should be fine.
Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel, Dawn!  Please let me know if you think of anything else before the big day arrives!
    Have a magical day!
