Hi! My husband, 20 month old daughter, and I are planning our first trip to WDW in March 2011. Do any deluxe resorts provide accommodations with a mstr bdrm and separate living area where our toddler could sleep without us waking her?

    Hi Kennon -

I think what would most appeal to you is the villa-style rooms at Walt Disney world. There are villas located at several of the deluxe-level hotels including the Beach Club, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Bay Lake Tower part of the Contemporary. With a 20-month old, my recommendation would be that you stay at Bay Lake Tower. This is a ten minute walk or monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom - the perfect place to enjoy with a toddler.

The one-bedroom villas are like small apartments. With a large bedroom and bathroom, plus a separate living room, kitchenette, and often a second bathroom.

To me, the villas are a wonderful option because not only do you get more bedroom space, but you also get some separate living room and kitchen space. Also, with most of the villas, you get a wonderful jacuzzi-type tub in the room. I am not big on doing household chores while on vacation, but I have always found it very helpful to have the in-room washer/dryer at the villas. With little kids, accidents and spills are inevitable, and the ease of access to a washing machine make this much easier to deal with.

The other bonus of the villas in the resort I listed above is that you also have access to all the wonderful amenities of the adjacent deluxe resorts: pools, restaurants, great transportation and so on.

Good luck with you planning and have a wonderful trip!
