My husband, my mom & I are planning on using rider switch for the rides my toddler can’t go on. After my mom and husband go on a ride, can one of them ride again when I go on so that I’m not riding alone?

Hi there, Vanessa! Welcome to planDisney. I completely understand the dynamics of riding attractions with a toddler in tow, especially when they're just shy of the height requirement! I'd love to walk you through the Rider Switch process so you can still enjoy attractions with your husband or mom while someone watches your little Mouseketeer.

Rider Switch is a great way to experience attractions when a Guest cannot ride or wait in the queue due to boarding restrictions, service animal limitations, or personal needs related to the queue's conditions. This feature is available at most attractions throughout the parks which is perfect when visiting with a toddler.

When you arrive at your desired attraction's entrance, simply let the Cast Member know you'd like to use Rider Switch. Your group will be divided into two parties. "Party A" will enter the queue and ride the attraction first, while "Party B" waits outside the queue. Up to two Guests from Party B may ride next, which means your mom or husband can ride along with you!

A Cast Member will scan the admission media or tickets for Guests in Party B and let you know where to return when it's your turn to ride. While you wait, feel free to relax in a comfortable spot, grab a tasty snack, or browse nearby shops. Just be sure your party lets you know when they've finished riding.

Once Party A has completed the attraction, any Guests from Party B who wish to ride should head to the return entrance provided by the Cast Member. Their admission media or tickets will be re-scanned, allowing them to board using the Rider Switch entrance without waiting in the standard queue.

With a toddler of your own, be sure to take advantage of the Baby Care Centers located in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. They offer microwaves for warming food, changing tables, feeding areas, and a quiet place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the day. I love stopping in for a calm moment where my son can enjoy a snack or use a restroom that's perfectly sized for toddlers.

My son's favorite thing to do on a Disney trip is to head straight to Goofy's How-to-Play Yard, especially after riding Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. He loves to run up and down the cushioned ground and go down the colorful slides endlessly. It is my favorite pre-nap ritual because it tires him out, and he is ready for a stroller nap by lunch.

Vanessa, thank you so much for visiting planDisney with your question. I hope this helped clarify how Rider Switch can help you confidently navigate the parks with a little Mouseketeer. If you have any additional questions, planDisney is always here to help!
