Ahoy there, Aurora,
Welcome to planDisney! You are so close to sailing away on your Disney Cruise Line vacation; I know you must be counting down the minutes!
I'm sorry you were unable to book the
Port Adventure you had your heart set on. I'm happy to offer tips to help you find alternative ways to book your adventure. You can book directly through the company offering the excursion or through other tour providers. Doing a quick internet search should uncover the excursion directly through the provider or another operator. Just enter the description and it should pop up for you. Now, if you go with a tour provider (like Viator), please make sure it is a reputable company and read their terms and conditions carefully. Most companies will offer refunds if your cruise is redirected or canceled, for example.
Keep in mind you will need to provide transportation to and from your excursion of choice. You should confirm the travel time between the ship and the location so you can factor that into your plans. One of the benefits of booking a Port Adventure directly through Disney Cruise Line is that your transportation is provided and the ship will wait for you if your excursion runs late. Other Guests who miss the "all-aboard" will not be so lucky. Be sure to confirm the all-aboard time before you depart the ship.
I also suggest you continue to check the Disney Cruise Line website for openings for the Port Adventure you would like to book. Some Port Adventures are very similar and even include the same activities, but are listed differently depending on other activities included, so read the descriptions carefully. Finally, when you board the ship, stop by the
Port Adventures desk and ask to be placed on a waiting list. You never know when another Guest will have a change of plans!
One of my favorite onboard activities for adults is the
Beverage Tasting Seminars. They book up quickly, so if none are currently available, more space often becomes available during your cruise. Just stop by the location where the event is offered and check for a waitlist or new offerings. You can find the locations in your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, so have it downloaded before you board the ship. Once onboard,
connect to the free Wi-Fi and select "Onboard Mode" and it will be smooth sailing from there!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Aurora! Let us know if you have other questions; we are happy to help.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
