    My husband loves to run 5k.I heard that Disney hosts many runs throughout the year. We are arriving April 23rd 2011 and staying for 7 nights at the Boardwalk. Would you know where such events take place and if any are taking place at the time of our stay?

    I ran my very first 5K at Walt Disney World two years ago. It was the Expedition Everest Challenge at the Animal Kingdom. We ran through the Animal Kingdom at night, after the park was closed, and followed up with a night time party in the park. Such a blast!  In fact, Disney hosts a number of fabulous running events throughout the year - everything from Kids' Fun Runs on up to the Goofy Marathon and a Half.

    Unfortunately, there are no 5Ks scheduled during the time of your visit. If you'd like to check the schedule for future visits, go to the website active.com (the handle the registration for the events). Search for events in and around Orlando, FL. You'll be able to find the complete scoop there.
