Hiya Regina,
It is great to see you back at planDisney, and what a great question! As the saying goes, there's no such thing as a bad day, when you are fishing. And of course, it goes to reason a day is even better when you are fishing at
Walt Disney World Resort!
Pack your favorite bobbers and get ready to reel in some fun. You and your hubby will be thrilled to hEAR there are a number of
fishing options for both the expert fisher-folks like yourself, or the beginner like me. If you are looking to do some dockside fishing, there are two locations where you can cast your line and see what you luck will haul in. These two locations are at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside as well as Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Guests are invited to bring their own fishing equipment or gear is available for rental at both locations.
If you prefer a guided fishing excursion, Mickey offers that option too. Guided catch and release outings are offered year round for either 2 or 4 hour sessions. You can select from a pontoon boat rental that can fit up to 5 guests, or a bass fishing boat that can fit a total of three guests. These excursions include your guide, all necessary fishing equipment and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. There are a number of marinas to select from including Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling (407) 939-3474.
As a reminder, all fishing at Walt Disney World Resort is catch and release only, so I hope you return from your vacation with plenty of tales about the size of the one that you let get away. If I can help with any further planning questions, please stop back and
see me.
T-T-F-N (Ta-Ta for now),
Margaret
