    My husband and I are interested in joining DVC. We have 2 girls (5 & 6) and vacation to WDW at least once a year. My understanding is that a `home resort` just means you have first dibs on booking at THAT resort. How hard is it to book elsewhere??

    Hi Jennifer! I am delighted that you are considering Disney Vacation Club Membership.  Our daughters are almost the same ages as yours, and I just cannot hold back the giggles whenever they start discussing their plans for our next vacation.  Little Disney experts are the best! 

    Let's talk a little about Home Resort Priority. Disney Vacation Club Members can book their Home Resort a full 11 months in advance of your stay. Members can request reservations from all other Disney Vacation Club Resorts seven months before arrival.  

    When selecting a Home Resort, I always guide my friends to consider their travel style. If your heart is set on an annual stay at Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows over the December holiday break, then you would likely be best served choosing that as your Home Resort. Your early booking advantage could be helpful in securing that coveted reservation. If your goal is to experience all Disney Vacation Club Resorts during different seasons, then you can be a bit more flexible in your selection.

    While our Home Resort is Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, our family has experienced magical vacations at nearly all of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. In fact, that flexibility is exactly what drew us to the Disney Vacation Club!
