My husband and I are HUGE StarWars fans, but we wont be in the park for SW weekends. Is there still a chance we may meet characters like R2-D2?

Hi Chris, I completely understand the HUGE Star Wars fans thing!  I have four Star Wars fans in my household as well!  I'm so sorry that you will miss Star Wars Weekends this year!  It really is an awesome experience for a Star Wars fan like yourself, with all of the rare character encounters, the celebrity motorcade and limited edition merchandise that is offered.  Unfortunately, the Star Wars Characters are unique to Star Wars Weekends and are usually off fighting the Dark Side on regular park days at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Normal Star Wars themed attractions that you can look forward to experiencing on your August trip include Star Tours - The Adventures Continue and Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy for children ages 3 - 12.  I'm sorry this was not the news you were hoping for. Star Wars Weekends are typically held on the last two weekends of May and the first two weekends in June. Hopefully, you will find that you are able to make one of the these exciting weekends in the future!  Best wishes for a Magical Trip, Chris!
May the Force Be With You,
