Hi Erin,
Thank you for your question, I'm an avid golfer and married to a PGA golf pro but as of yet haven't played any of the Disney courses, hopefully when my children are older! My husband has though so I've asked his advice on this question.
There are 5 courses at WDW, 4 championship 18-hole courses and one 9-hole walking course (Oak Trail) which is more suited to beginners and families. All 4 of the 18-hole courses are challenging but all have various tee off areas to accommodate different levels of golfer. If your husband would like to play one of the courses that the PGA tour play on then I suggest he plays either Magnolia (this one has the famous Mickey sand trap/bunker) or the Palm Course. You can find some answers to frequently asked golf questions
HERE and general golf information
HERE.
It's really quite hard to give pros and cons for each course as they really are all very well maintained and all have interesting holes, my husband chose to play Magnolia as he wanted to play a PGA tour course and he really enjoyed it. If I had to choose I personally would choose Magnolia first (because of the sand trap) then Palm, Lake Buena Vista and finally Osprey Ridge. All I can suggest is you show your husband the golf link above which includes virtual tours of the courses and see which ones he likes the look of!
Happy golfing and make sure to book a tee time before your trip,
Jo
