Hi! My husband and I are expecting our first child and I’m hoping we will have the gender information by our Disney trip. We have castle lunch reservations and I was wondering if it would be possible to somehow have a princess or prince reveal the gender?

Welcome to planDisney, Victoria, and a great big Mickey-sized congratulations on the upcoming arrival of your young prince or princess! I can't think of a better place to celebrate your news than at Walt Disney World Resort, so let's explore some ideas to commemorate your big announcement.

I'd also like to congratulate you on securing a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table because that is a hot ticket! One tip is to ask for a table near the windows overlooking Fantasyland. That's the best view in the castle! And when the princesses come around to visit your table, be ready to snap some royal photos.

Princesses typically have little time to spare when interacting with their royal subjects, so I doubt they could spend too much time during your gender reveal. I suggest you take care of the reveal beforehand, but I am confident their royal highnesses would love to have photos taken with you and a pink or blue stuffed animal. So even though I wouldn't count on characters to play a significant role in the reveal, I think they'll be happy to celebrate with you for a photo afterward.

I'd also like to suggest you book a Capture Your Moment photo session during your visit. These 20-minute sessions are available at Magic Kingdom Park, so you could bring along some pink and blue props to use. The Disney PhotoPass photographers will surely have some creative ideas to make your happy announcement. You can book this online before your trip, and I'm sending pixie dust and flashbulbs so that you'll secure a booking. If not, any Disney PhotoPass Photographer will gladly snap photos to help you share your news.

Victoria, I'm so excited for your growing family, and please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
