Ahoy, Tracy! (great name, btw)
My husband and I have embarked on six Disney Cruises without our children, and have had absolutely wonderful experiences each time. In fact, on our first adults-only cruise, we met wonderful friends who we have now vacationed with multiple times!
Taking a kids-free Disney Cruise changes your entire experience. No longer are you on the children's nap or dining schedule. You can relax and enjoy some of the areas on the cruise ship designed specially for adults. I highly recommend heading to Serenity Bay, the adult-exclusive beach on
Castaway Cay. I don't think I have EVER been more relaxed on a beach than I was there. Picture it...no children shouting to their parents, no sand being thrown around...just the soothing sounds of the ocean water lapping against the shore. Seriously, I thought I was in heaven!
On our DCL trips sans children, we have taken advantage of the Vista Spa & Salon (try the rainforest room, it's amazing!), attended the after hours entertainment (Match Your Mate is hilarious!), sunk fellow cruisers at Disney Trivia, and participated in many adult beverage tastings (mixology is our favorite). We try to book a brunch at Palo on each cruise as well, which is truly a spectacular experience.
And the best part of all? I still get to take pictures with Sailor Goofy! I love the Disney extras that we get on a Disney Cruise Line vacation. That's why we are platinum Castaway Club members!
I hope this helps to ease your mind a bit. Have a MAGICally FANTAStic and WONDERful cruise onboard one of the DREAM-filled Disney Cruise Line ships!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V. (aka Wild Orchid)
