My husband and I are going to DW with our 23 month old daughter in April. Any suggestions on best resort to stay at or stuff not in the parks to do? (We're thinking of staying at the art of animation Lion King suites, it's her favorite movie.)

    Hi Miranda,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Disney's Art of Animation Resort is a wonderful Disney Resort Hotel to stay at. If your daughter's favorite movie is The Lion King then she will love staying in The Lion King Family Suites. Art of Animation has a magical way of making you feel like you are a part of your favorite animated Disney films. With three pools to choose from, your family is sure to enjoy a splashtastic time! The Big Blue Pool is my personal favorite of the three. Your daughter can also enjoy the Righteous Reef playground, located in the Finding Nemo courtyard. Another favorite recreational activity your family can enjoy is Movies Under the Stars. At Disney's Art of Animation Resort, nighttime movies are shown outdoors in The Lion King Courtyard. Check with the front desk for a schedule.

As for other activities outside of the parks, I would definitely suggest visiting the Downtown Disney area. With a multitude of shopping, dining, and entertainment options you can spend a morning or afternoon at Downtown Disney. My kids love visiting the World Of Disney Store – the world's largest Disney character store – to find a souvenir, and even to see the decorations. The spitting Stitch out front is always a favorite of my 6-year-old. He especially enjoys the occasional passerby who gets hit by water by that mischievous Experiment 626.

Please let me know if I can help you with any other planning needs for your Walt Disney World vacation.

    Have a magical day,
    Bob
