My husband & I are driving from off campus to run the 10-miler & we have family trying to ubering to the finish line. How complicated is it to uber to epcot on race day around 7:15 am?

    Welcome to planDisney, Rebecca!

I’m so excited to see that you’re planning to run the upcoming Springtime Surprise 10-Miler! Best of luck to you and your husband! I recently ran the Princess 10k last month and had the opportunity to run the Princess 1/2 Marathon 2 years ago! Though I’ve only done 2 runDisney races, you can count me as a HUGE fan! I am thrilled to be running the Springtime Surprise 10-Miler next year with my friends! Let me know how it goes, Rebecca!

I’m happy to hear that you and your husband will be driving to the race, as driving and parking yourself is a great method for getting yourself to the race. This is how my friends and I have done it every time, and we’ve been very happy. Note: Disney recommends arriving no later than 4am, as the race begins at 5am.

As for your family, Rebecca, there should be plenty of ride share services available (because Orlando is a huge tourist hotspot, their wait for a car is likely to be limited) however they may experience some extra traffic as they will have to go through regular traffic as well as the influx of runDisney Guests. Taking a ride share to EPCOT is generally straightforward, and the drop off is usually close to the bus drop off. Please note, though, that they may have a different designated ride share drop off point on race day. Cast Members at the drop off point will be able to direct your family toward the finish line or the EPCOT entrance. I would recommend adding an additional 15-20 minutes onto their projected travel time to give some extra wiggle room for traffic. I also recommend making the ride share reservation the night/day before if they can to have the best shot at getting to EPCOT in a timely manner.

After your race, Rebecca, I hope you’ll spend some time eating around the booths at Flower and Garden Festival! You can scan the Foodie Guide to help you determine what culinary masterpieces look exciting for your post-race noshes!

I’m wishing you and your husband the very best of luck, Rebecca! If you have additional questions, we’d love to hear from you again at planDisney!

See ya at the finish line,
    Allyn
