    My husband and I are debating about staying either the Port Orleans resort or the Caribbean resort. We have a 4 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. We also don't want the travel to the parks to be a long one. Which is better to stay at for my family?

    Hi, Dimitra! Thanks for visiting us again here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    The Port Orleans-Riverside and Caribbean Beach resorts have approximately the same number of guest rooms and feature lovely landscaped grounds, but I personally prefer Riverside over Caribbean Beach. 
    Riverside is located between Downtown Disney and Epcot whereas Caribbean Beach is just southeast of Epcot. 

    Some of my favorite things about Riverside are the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful Southern plantation architecture in the Magnolia Bend section, and the varied recreational offerings. I think that Riverside is a great choice for families with young children. 

    If you do ultimately choose Riverside, I recommend staying in the Magnolia Bend section. Oak Manor (Building 90) and Magnolia Terrace (Building 85) will put you closer to the resort's commercial center (which houses the food court, restaurant, registration desk and merchandise shop) and to Ol' Man Island (the main swimming complex with large themed pool, water slide and kiddie pool). 

    Buses run on a 20-minute cycle at Riverside as well as Caribbean Beach, so your travel time to the theme parks will be about the same. Riverside does share buses with its smaller sister resort, Port Orleans-French Quarter, but at the Port Orleans resorts you have the added perk of water taxi transportation to Downtown Disney.
