My husband & 3 daughters (22, 17 & 14 w/ Down syndrome) are going to WDW for 10 days to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Looking for some ideas to make the trip amazing and VIP! Ideas?

    Melissa,

What I love about your question is that you understand that Walt Disney World can be fun at any age!

An important point I love to share with friends when planning a trip is to remind them that just being at Walt Disney World is special. While there are lots of great 'plus' things to do, don't feel like you have to do too many, as the trip itself will be magical. But let's talk special, since you asked!

Dining: A 25th wedding anniversary is a big deal. If you would like to mark the occasion with something amazing, you might consider Victoria & Albert's Chef's Table Dinner, located in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It is expensive, but worth it. We enjoyed a 10-course meal that took hours but felt like minutes. You sit in a private dining room adjacent to the kitchen, where you get to watch them create masterpieces, and it is actually less formal than their normal dining room. If it is unavailable, you can never go wrong with my favorite restaurant in the world (not just in Walt Disney World), the California Grill (atop Disney's Contemporary Resort). Make sure you stick around for the amazing view of the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks!

Adventure: Perhaps you need something more exotic, like a safari? The Wild Africa Trek combines a privately guided tour of the African savannah at the Animal Kingdom Theme Park where you get up close to many of the residents of the Kilimanjaro Safari tour. You get an African-inspired gourmet lunch while you watch the animals around you, and even get to cross a rope bridge above the crocodile enclosure.

Memories: Finally, it is important to capture these important milestones. Like you, I have teenagers that will be off to their own adventures soon, so capturing the family gatherings is important. The Disney PhotoPass Service is more than just pictures in front of a castle. There are lots of new photo features that can help you capture your time together in new and exciting ways. I think that the new Super Zoom Magic Shots are ones you should definitely get taken. These pictures start zoomed in on your family, but as the camera zooms out it reveals that you are in the hub of the Magic Kingdom in front of Cinderella Castle, or near the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Definitely keepsakes you will cherish.

But that is just a start. There are so many other ways to plus up the experience. Let me know more about what you and your daughters find interesting, and I can make more suggestions. Oh, and congratulations on 25 years of marriage!

    Have a Magical Vacation!
