My Husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan and we are trying to plan a trip to WDW when he returns between Apr-Jul. We will be taking our 3 year old daughter and possibly both of our parents(3 separate rooms) Where is the best place to stay?

Hi, Angela!  Thank you so much to your husband and your family for the tremendous sacrifices you are all making for his service!

Where is the best place to stay?  That's a question that only you can really determine, but I'm happy to help you get there.  What type of accommodations are you looking for?  Do you have a budget you'd like to stick to?  What kinds of amenities would you like?

Let's start with Shades of Green.  This is not a Walt Disney World resort, but it is an Armed Forces Recreation Center.  The rooms are quite generous in size, and the resort has it's own restaurants, coffee shop, and even a Niki Bryan spa!  The resort is comparable to one of Walt Disney World's deluxe resorts.  There are some differences from a Disney owned hotel, and they include having to arrange your own transportation from the airport to the resort, and you won't be able to do things like the dining plan, but you still have access to extra magic hours and can have packages delivered to your hotel.

If you're looking for Walt Disney World themeing in your resort, check out the brand new Art of Animation resort.  Brightly colored, fun, and fantastic in themeing, this resort features many family suites, which offer larger accommodations with an extra bathroom, a private bedroom for mom and dad, and a small kitchenette.  Or if you're looking for a deluxe experience, with easy access to the monorail, look into the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary resort.

If you want to send me another note to let me know what type of experience you'd like to have and what your budget is, I can make some specific recommendations to get you to the magic!

    Happy planning, Angela!
