My husband & I are celebrating our Golden Anniversary and would like to stay in the Disney Resorts hotel with easy access to theme parks and evening light shows. We appreciate any/all help you can provide for seniors. Thank you.

    Welcome Patricia!

The Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place to commemorate this special milestone for you and your husband, and the entire resort will be celebrating with you! You'll be visiting just after The World's Most Magical Celebration begins to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Walt Disney World Resort! Obviously, 1971 was a great year! Check out this special golden anniversary page for more details, and you can even sign up for celebration updates.

Staying within the Disney Resorts Collection will allow you to be in the magic, with the convenience of being close to the theme parks. Unfortunately, evening spectaculars have not returned to the theme parks. While I am hoping they return soon, there have been no announcements as to when they will be showing again. I'm crossing my fingers they will be back soon!

For the ultimate in elegance, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is Walt Disney World's flagship resort. With Disney's Monorail, you'll be a quick ride away from the Magic Kingdom! There is also convenient bus service available from the resort to the other theme parks. Also along the Monorail with easy access to Magic Kingdom are Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort. If you were thinking of a special anniversary dinner, I highly recommend California Grill. Situated at the top of Disney's Contemporary Resort, you'll be treated to stunning views while you enjoy one of the best meals on property. This is one of my favorite restaurants and the perfect place for a special meal. My husband and I celebrated an anniversary dinner here and it was wonderful!

If you think Epcot is more your speed, there are several resorts located within easy walking distance around Cresent Lake. You'll also find boat transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios. My family loves Disney's BoardWalk Inn. There are multiple dining options available, and there is nothing like coming home to stroll through the beautiful lights of Disney's BoardWalk at night. Also in this area, you'll find the sister resorts of Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort. They each have their own nautical theme, separate lobbies, dining, and decor, they do share the amazing Stormalong Bay which is considered by many to be the best pool on property. Complete with a lazy river and multiple hot tubs, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

I would check out the photos and descriptions of each of these resorts through the links to get an idea of what might be the right fit for you and your husband. I have stayed at each of these resorts and I can tell you they all have something wonderful to offer! I hope you'll return with more questions as you plan your golden anniversary trip, Patricia. We love talking Disney!
