My husband and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary on the Disney Dream at the end of September. We have accrued some money on our Disney Rewards card. Can we use that on the ship?

Welcome aboard, Melissa! Congratulations on 15 years of marriage! Setting sail on the Disney Dream will be a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary! If you haven't already, be sure to call your travel agent or the agents at Disney Cruise Line at 800-951-3532 to ask them to add a note to your reservation about celebrating your anniversary. The Cast Members like to know when guests are celebrating events so that they can celebrate right along with them!

You asked about using your Disney Rewards Card onboard the ship. I'm assuming this is the one that holds your reward dollars from your Disney Visa Card. We have a Disney Visa Card and use our reward dollars on the cruise ships all the time. If this is your first time using reward points, you will need to call the card company and request a Rewards Card, which will act like a gift card to hold your dollars once they are converted from reward points. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to receive that for the first time from the credit card company, so order it soon if you don't already have one. If you do have one already, be sure to go online with the credit card company to transfer your points into reward dollars on your card. Then, you're all set!

Onboard, no cash or credit cards are needed, as guests simply use their Key To The World Card to swipe for any purchases that are made. However, the gift shops onboard do accept Disney Gift Cards. But, honestly, the easiest thing to do is take your Disney Rewards Card or any Disney Gift Cards you might have, and have them added as credits to your stateroom account. Guest Services will be happy to do this for you. Then, you've got credit on your account to use. Or, if you've already charged to your account before adding your gift cards, Guest Services can still take those gift cards as credit toward your purchases, as you credit card on file won't be charged until the last day of the cruise.

I hope those details help! Have an amazing cruise, Melissa!
