My husband and I will be brining our daughter and my father to Disney April 4th for my Daughter's 4th b-day. This will be my dad's first trip back to Disney since my mom passed away. Is there anything you can suggest to make him feel special as well?

    Hi Sharon,

I am sorry to hear about your mom's passing but I hope your family will start new memories with your dad and your daughter.

I know my dad loves to spoil his grandprincesses when he is with them.  Usually he takes them each on their own individual shopping spree to purchase that one  item that mom would usually say no to. ;)

You might have him start a tradition in the parks with just your daughter and him. My husband has started the tradition of buying our girls a pearl at the Japanese pavilion in EPCOT.  They love the idea of picking the oyster and then finding the surprise inside.  They do it once a trip, and now they have enough to make earrings or a necklace from their treasures.  These will have so much more meaning because they were apart of a very special memory.

Another way to make it special is to have him pick a favorite restaurant to have treat with just you and your daughter - no offense to your husband.  It could be as simple as an ice cream on the Boardwalk or popcorn from your favorite cart.

    Enjoy your very special trip!
