My husband and I are bringing our almost 2 year old to WDW this September for the first time. We have plenty of time there and I was told about mickeys not so scary halloween party. I was wondering if it was age appropriate for someone as young as her.

    Hi Maureen,

Yes! I happen to love Halloween and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween is one of my family's must-do events each year.

I wouldn't hesitate to bring a young child. There are so many fun age-appropriate events that she will have a blast. The scariness and spookiness is kept to a minimum and the emphasis is on fun. Seeing the characters in costume is always a treat too.

Not only is this special event typically less crowded than a normal park day, but there are so many special events and sights to see! We even love people-watching and seeing the costumes that guests have brought just for the party! Everyone is welcome to dress up - we love to make it a family event!

During the last party we attended, there were huge inflatable characters and creatures in a few locations in the park and entrance. These brought a huge smile to our face. We also enjoyed the extra, friendly "spookiness" near the Haunted Mansion.

You'll also have many opportunities to Trick-or-Treat throughout the park. All ages are welcome to participate in this too.

And, last but not least, be sure to grab a spot for the parade! The past years' parades have been kicked off by a headless horseman out for a gallop down the streets of the Magic Kingdom. While I don't want to give away all the surprises, I will say that this parade is my favorite of all-time.

    Hope this helps!
