Boo to You, Rachel! Welcome to planDisney. From one military wife to another, thank you for your husband's service! I am happy to help you with your question!
Halloween at Walt Disney World Resort is so fun, and "not-so-scary!". The military discounts offered to our community are a great value and make travel a breeze. Since your husband retired from the USAF, he qualifies for several discounts, including the
Disney Military Salute Tickets! These theme park tickets can be purchased from your
nearest military base, or Shades of Green Resort. When you purchase them, you will receive a receipt with a Disney Reservation #, which is what you will use to link to yourself and the other family members traveling with you on the My Disney Experience mobile app. Your husband can purchase up to six of these tickets per year. When you arrive at Walt Disney World, visit Guest Relations at your first theme park, and you or your husband will need to "activate" the tickets using your military ID. If you order your tickets from
Shades of Green, your tickets will already be active, and you won't need to do this step. Fill out the Ticket Form and email it to tickets@shadesofgreenresort.zendesk.com. Don't forget to make
theme park reservations with these tickets!
If you want to stay at a Disney Resort hotel with the military rate, call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line, and a Cast Member can apply the discount. Rates vary by resort hotel and the time of year you visit. Call as soon as possible, rooms do fill up fast! Shades of Green is also another great option for military families.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets can be purchased directly from Walt Disney World, but they are not discounted. I recommend purchasing the Halloween party tickets from Shades of Green, they are tax-free and slightly discounted. There is one party currently
available during your visit timeframe, the 29th of October. Tickets for the 31st have sold out. Order your tickets as soon as possible! This party is an eerie delight for guests of all ages!
Rachel, one final military discount I want to mention is for Memory Maker. This is a Disney PhotoPass product, which gives you all the digital images from the photos you take with your family at Walt Disney World. It is priced at $98 for military families (subject to change) and it's a great deal! If you are interested in Memory Maker, you can purchase it with the military rate in person at Guest Relations.
I hope all of this information was helpful, Rachel! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Feel free to send me questions any time before your visit, if you need extra pixie dust! You've got a friend in me!
Magic Awaits!
