My husband bought my magic band for our trip to Disney World last year and linked it to his account. I have a reservation with my account for Disneyland but I cannot link my magic band+. I’ve already reset it to its factory settings. How can I link it ?

    Hi there, Maria,

Uh oh! I suspect that Experiment 626 (AKA Stitch) has something to do with this. Hopefully, one or more of these tips will help you link your MagicBand+ to your Disneyland Resort account and theme park admission. I recommend starting with the standard MagicBand+ setup steps. When the basics don't work out, the MagicBand+ support page has a few more options to try. And when that doesn't work, these additional ideas have helped my family overcome those technical hurdles while linking our MagicBand+:

    1. Make sure your MagicBand+ is fully charged. This isn't technically required for linking the band to your account and theme park admission. But it is important for Bluetooth pairing. That will allow you to customize your band using the Disneyland mobile app and use it with the Play Disney Parks app.
    2. Download or update to the latest version of the Disneyland mobile app from your device's application store. In some cases, it may not hurt to uninstall and reinstall the app as well.
    3. Be sure to check for any available updates to your mobile phone's operating system. And even if it is up-to-date, fully powering off and restarting your mobile phone may help as well.
    4. Our family has multiple users with their own accounts. When I was linking my wife's MagicBand+ to my account, I found that I first needed to unlink it from her account.
    5. You've already tried this one, but I've seen once or twice that a reset or factory reset of my band makes a big difference. One time, I did this twice during a linking before my linking worked for me. This has usually been particularly helpful after the band has been used on a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
    6. I've seen reports that the name assigned to a theme park ticket can affect assigning a MagicBand+ to that ticket. This seems to be the case especially when the name is blank or may have other unseen characters in it. You can see why I suspect Stitch's antics, right? To have a name changed on a ticket, you may call the Tickets phone line or reach out to a Cast Member using the "Chat with Us" feature of the Disneyland mobile app. You could also experiment with trying to link your MagicBand+ to a different ticket or pass. Note that experimentation with linking to different accounts and tickets works with the Disneyland Resort side of things. However, a MagicBand+ may only be linked to one Guest on the Walt Disney World side.
    7. After exhausting all other possibilities, I recommend stopping by any of the Guest Relations locations throughout the Disneyland Resort theme parks. The Cast Members there are some of the most magical I've met. They may be able to provide the personal technical support you need to overcome your linking challenge.

You're "almost there," Maria. I hope some of these ideas help get to the Disneyland Resort and enjoy your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth to the fullest.

    See ya real soon!
