Hi. My husband and I are booking our Disney Cruise on the Disney Dream as a gift for our 3 kids. We're wondering if we will need to purchase a beverage or soda plan for the kids, like on other cruise lines. Or, are all beverages (non-alcoholic) included?

    Welcome Aboard, Bethany!

How exciting that you are gifting a cruise to your children! We surprised our two daughters with their first Disney Cruise Line vacation for Christmas in 2009, by wrapping up balloons that spelled out "Disney Cruise in 16 days".

You will be happy to learn that included in your cruise fare are all non-alcoholic beverages that your family cares to partake in. You will find a couple of drink stations on deck 11 (the pool deck) that include Coca Cola products, as well as coffee, tea, and water. Any time that Cabanas is open, you can head in there and get assorted juices or milk as well.

If you order any non-alcoholic beverages from a bar, there is a fee, as well as any soda ordered through room service. If you eat a meal in the main dining rooms, all regular beverages are included as well. If your children choose to order the smoothie of the day, there will be a fee, which is listed on the menu.

You might want to bring your own drink bottles or Tervis cups to fill with the paper cups at the drink stations, since the cups are rather small. We also try to pack a collapsible drink carrier (from a local fast food restaurant) to carry drinks for the family back to our stateroom.

I hope your family has a fantastic first cruise aboard the beautiful Disney Dream! Please visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more cruising questions before your family sets sail.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.

Walt Disney World was my very first vacation, when I was just 3 months old, and I recently completed my 73rd trip to a Disney location! I have been fortune enough to parasail high above the Disney Fantasy, attend opening day of Batuu, snorkel in the lagoon at Disney's Aulani, and SO MUCH MORE! I can't wait to help you plan your Disney vacation!
