Ahoy, Christa!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I always enjoy helping a fellow Georgian with cruise plans so I'm thrilled you are here, and I love that your husband is thinking ahead for your upcoming cruise! There will be many shopping opportunities both on the ship and while ashore so it's smart to have a plan in place before you set sail. Unfortunately, Disney Cruise Line does not offer shipping services so you'll need to be creative because what's a Disney vacation without some special mementoes?
I've had to deal with lack of souvenir space before so one of my go-to ideas is to bring a flat duffle bag that I can pack in the bottom of one of our suitcases to use for our vacation purchases. Also, the shops onboard sell a variety of bags including small suitcases that you can purchase as both a souvenir and a place to put your souvenirs! I've got a few bags in the closet that are from past cruises that have been put to good use for other trips over the years. Depending on the size of your purchases you can also carry them off in one of the large Disney Cruise Line plastic bags from the shops. I've had to ask for an extra bag or two, and it's never a problem!
The only shipping option that comes to mind is finding a shipping and packing store near the port. This may work if you are driving or setting up your own ground transportation. There appears to be a Pak Mail Store located on Astronaut Blvd., which is not too far from the Disney Cruise Line Terminal. They are open Monday through Saturday.
Christa, I hope one of these ideas will work. And since we are talking shopping, I like to budget for our souvenirs on the ship by purchasing a Disney Gift Card at the grocery store each week. They can be combined online at
www.disneygiftcard.com and can be redeemed at the shops onboard or at Guest Services. It's a great way to save a little at a time.
