    My husband are both up in ages, I am 72 and my husband is 70, It was my dream to take our 6-1/2 yr old grandson to Disney, but we felt too old. Are there any ideas you might have to not make my husband and myself too tired. I want him to enjoy himself.

    Hi, Bernice!  The thing I love about Walt Disney World is that everyone gets to be a kid again, enjoying the attractions, the parades, and the fireworks! 

    The first thing I suggest is, if possible, try to avoid taking your grandson during the hottest times of the year.  The heat and humidity can be exhausting, and I know even for my teenage daughter, she gets tired much more quickly in the summer.  Late October through the end of February are better times to visit to avoid the hottest part of the year.

    I would also suggest scheduling some down time - planning to spend an hour at your meals, heading back from the theme parks to the resort for some swimming, or even spending an hour or so in the afternoon at your resort room to give everyone a break.  It sounds like it would be tough to have a six year old sit for an hour, but if you plan character meals or fun dining experiences (I recommend 'Ohana, Whispering Canyon Cafe, or 50's Prime Time Cafe), the time seems to fly by much more quickly.

    Another thing that works when we visit with my parents or my in-laws is to space things out so that there is a break for everyone.  You might do one or two ride on attractions, that may only last a few minutes, and then go see a show or something where you are sitting a little bit longer.

    I hope you can make it work, and don't feel that your age is going to keep your prince from having a magical time!  I think spending time with grandparents that love him enough to take him to Walt Disney World is just the right kind of pixie dust to give him a wonderful experience!
