    My hubby and I are thinking about a return trip in January. Are there any special events that happen in January? What is the weather usually like? Thank you!

    Hi Erin,

    January at the Walt Disney World Resorts ushers in the Run Disney Marathon Weekend which is usually around January 10. This is a busy four days at the parks as guests arrive from all over the world to run in the four events. Epcot will see the most impact on race day Sunday as the marathon finishes in the parking lot of Epcot. Runners go from the World Showcase through Future World and out the front entrance. If you want to cheer on the runners, this is a great location.

    Otherwise, it is a time of quiet in the parks. The holiday decorations are coming down and the parks are getting ready for winter and spring breaks.

    As for the weather, it varies. I have seen it be 30 degrees one year and 80 degrees the next. There is generally no humidity or rain. I always check a weather channel for the forecast so I know what to pack.
