Hubby & I will be at AKL for 10 days during Valentines Week (celebrating 20 yEARS). I would like to decorate our door w/ a few decorations (felt hearts) that will lay flat against the door. May I use tape for this? What is allowed for door decorations?

Hi, Jeanie! I'm so glad you are getting to spend your special anniversary at Walt Disney World. My husband and I honeymooned there almost 30 years ago, and we love to do couples trips back.

The guidelines for decorating your resort room include nothing that can mark or permanently damage anything. That means tape is out, as are push pins, thumbtacks, or anything that will leave a sticky residue.

What you can use is magnets, suction cups, and - my personal favorite - vinyl window clings. The doors are perfect for the vinyl window clings, and you can find them everywhere - dollar stores, Target, Walmart - anywhere you would normally find holiday decor. They won't do any damage to either the door or the windows, and they're easy to pack!

I hope you enjoy your stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've taken many romantic strolls out to the savannas, and enjoyed listening to the animal specialists that can give you the inside scoop on many of the animals that roam freely at the resort.  And if you haven't thought about a romantic dinner yet, I cannot say enough about Jiko - The Cooking Place. The food is spectacular.

    Happy anniversary!
