We are going to HS M&B Dessert Party on 12/28- runs from 8:30 to 10pm. How does this work when park hours show HS closes at 8pm? I assume we can check in at the party entrance at 8, but will we be the only people in the park after 8?

Hi there Lou Ann,

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! December is my favorite time to visit as all of the parks and resorts are beautifully decorated for the holiday season. According to the official website, the Merry & Bright Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m on December 28, 2015. I just looked up the official park hours for Disney's Hollywood Studios on that day and the park is currently scheduled to close at 8:00 p.m. Fantasmic! is scheduled to be shown at 8:30 p.m. on that particular day.

I have visited Walt Disney World several times toward the middle and end of December and have quite often seen the park hours extended in the days leading up to our trip. Even if the park hours are not extended for that particular day, you should not encounter any difficulty when you check-in for the Merry & Bright Dessert Party. Many of the Table-Service restaurants within each park book right up until park closing so you should not be the only Guests in the park after 8:00 p.m. Follow the link I have provided to learn more about the Merry & Bright Dessert Party.
