Howdy Disney Parents. We'll be staying at the Fort Wilderness and have reservations at restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge. How can we get to AKL via bus? Can we go to the AK Park and walk to AKL? Or do we need to make a transfer? Thank you!

Even though the Animal Kingdom is very close to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, there is no walking path to get from one to the other.

From Fort Wilderness there are two possible travel methods you could use to get to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, both of them involve transfers. The first method is the one you suggest: take a bus to the Animal Kingdom and transfer to a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The second method is to take a boat from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer from there to a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think both methods would take similar amounts of time.

Enjoy your meals at the AKL!
